Early Explorers Try Spinach for Harvest of the Month

The Early Explorers program is excited to partner with Partnership for a Healthy Lincoln through the Harvest of the Month initiative, bringing fresh, locally grown produce directly into the classroom. This partnership allows students to explore new foods in a hands-on, engaging way while learning about healthy eating habits from an early age. Each month, featured produce is sourced from Robinette Farms, supporting local agriculture and connecting children to where their food comes from.

In April, spinach was highlighted as the Harvest of the Month. Students had the opportunity to taste fresh spinach and create their own salads, turning a simple ingredient into a fun and interactive learning experience. Activities like these help build curiosity, encourage trying new foods, and promote lifelong healthy habits.

Programs like Harvest of the Month are a valuable part of the Early Explorers curriculum, combining nutrition education with hands-on learning to support the growth and development of every child.
