Rotary is an international service organization with members who place service above self. The Rotary Club #14 heard our plea to help our children to narrow the digital divide and thankfully granted Willard $4,845.00 to purchase 17 Chromebooks for the After School Programs and to use during the summer.
We do not want our children to be left behind because they don’t have access to current technology that will help them to increase their knowledge and the chance at better jobs in the future. The Chromebooks are being purchased for grade school-age children, kindergarten through 8th grade, to be able to research topics, do classroom work, and play educational games. The Chromebooks will greatly enhance the educational curriculum that we have planned for the children this summer and on non-school days.
Willard will also make the Chromebooks available to adults to use for job searching, writing resumes, or research topics of interest in classes and programs that could be offered in the near future.
