Arts & Storytelling: A Creative Journey for Adults 55+

Willard Community Center is excited to offer a brand-new Arts and Storytelling Workshop, a free 5-week program designed for adults age 55 and older. The series begins Thursday, November 13, from 11:00 AM to 12:15 PM, and will culminate in a final class and group project on December 18. All sessions will be held at Willard Community Center, 1245 S. Folsom Street.

Led by artist Wendy Jane Bantam, this immersive workshop invites participants to transform their personal stories into meaningful works of art. Through guided activities, participants will explore memory, emotion, and creativity using a variety of storytelling tools: writing, painting, music, and mixed media. Each session celebrates the individual creative process, emphasizing experimentation and personal expression.

The workshop offers a welcoming, collaborative environment where art becomes a vehicle for reflection and connection. By the end of the five weeks, participants will have created a unique project that captures their personal journey through art and story.

Registration is required by November 10, and space is limited.
Register here or call 402-475-0805 to register.

Please note:

  • There will be no class on November 27 (Thanksgiving).

  • Following the December 11 session, participants are invited to a hosted lunch followed by additional class time from 1:00–2:00 PM.

Join us for this enriching experience that blends creativity, storytelling, and community connection, all designed to inspire and celebrate your artistic voice.
