Apart But Together

During the COVID-19 pandemic, many families are able to to do their jobs at home, while also being able to care for their kids. Willard Community Center understands that is not possible for all families. With schools shut down, Willard strives to continue to offer full-time care to the families that are in need of a safe place for their kids to come and learn. Our administration and staff have been hard at work to provide children with educational enrichment on a daily basis; to include a full daily schedule that consists of journaling, art, physical education, science, social studies, math and time to complete assignments provided by Lincoln Public Schools on their chromebooks and Wonder accounts.

During this unfortunate time, we find ourselves missing the children that we would normally be caring for. In an effort to reach out to those families that we are not in direct contact with on a daily basis, we want you to know that your children are in our thoughts every day. Anthony Wade, a Willard Community Center employee, thought it would be a great idea to put together a brief video to show that even though we are apart, we are still together. The children, and our hard working staff did such a fantastic job making a heart felt poster to express their compassion during hard times.

If you find that you are in need of child care or know of a family in search of child care, Willard Community Center currently has openings. We would love to extend our support to those essential workers and their children. We have available spots in Preschool & Pre-k, all the way up to 5th grade. Please call Willard Community Center to find out more about our program, and the policies and procedures that are being followed to ensure your children's health and safety.
