Summer Food Program
The Summer Food Service Program is an extension of the National School Lunch program which provides a free nutritious meal to children 18 and under at various sites around Lincoln.
The program is a cooperative effort of the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department and many community agencies and organizations. Many Summer Food Program sites are at community organizations who provide summer programs for children.
Willard Community Center is one of those sites. Breakfast is served from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. and lunch is served from 12:00 to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The Lincoln Lancaster County Health Department acts as the local sponsor for the program under the Nebraska Department of Education.
The program usually runs from early June through mid-August at many sites across Lincoln.
